Q:
Where did you grow up?
A:
I grew up in Rockland County, New York in a family-oriented community.
Q:
How did you decide to become a dentist?
A:
I decided to become a dentist during my first year at SUNY Binghamton. Taking an inventory of my skills and interests, I wanted to combine my passion for science, my strong relationship skills and unique manual dexterity into helping people. This translated perfectly to a career in dentistry.
Q:
What was your education like?
A:
Undergrad, I studied at Binghamton for one year, then transferred to SUNY Albany for the next two. My desire to pursue dentistry was so great that I applied, and was accepted, to Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry one year early. After four years in dental school, I began my General Practice Residency at Hackensack Medical Center.
Q:
How did you begin your professional career?
A:
After completing my residency, I discovered a dental practice for sale in the town of Carmel, NY. This practice had been in existence for 50 years, so it already had quite an established following. For 30 years, I have been building and improving upon this already well-established practice.
Q:
How would you characterize your practice?
A:
My practice focuses on aesthetic, implant and preventive dentistry. Our top priority is to improve the health and well-being of patients. We derive great satisfaction in transforming “non-aesthetic” cases into bright, new smiles.
Q:
What is your most gratifying procedure?
A:
I enjoy restoring dental implants for my patients. It is extremely gratifying to restore a smile on a patient who is missing teeth.
Q:
Why should people choose you as their dentist?
A:
I want to hear from patients about their personal treatment goals (their tooth-color choices, their expectations for comfort, and long-term treatment outcomes). I also want to apply solutions that meet a patient’s financial constraints, and health concerns.
Taking into account the patient’s goals, combined with my own diagnosis, I prepare and present a detailed treatment plan.
It is hard to find a dentist that listens to your personal concerns, treats you as if your were a family member, and is willing to take your care to the highest level.
Q:
What else makes your practice special?
A:
General dentists often need to refer patients to a periodontists for additional treatment such as complex extractions, implant surgery, treatment for periodontal disease, and emergency procedures. My office has a periodontist on-site. Over the years, this has been extremely convenient for patients.
What also makes us special is our commitment to quality. We use premiere class porcelain labs and implant materials, which is crucial to the outcome of our cases. We do not cut corners.
Q:
How important is your staff to you and your patients?
A:
My office staff has been with me for many years. My main assistant has just completed her 21st year in my practice. My office manager has been with us for 8 years and is extremely helpful to the practice and our patients. Our main hygienist has also been with us for 8 years, and is extremely talented at her position.
The wonderful thing about my staff is the depth of care they provide to patients. We receive countless compliments about the office staff.
Q:
What is your personal life like?
A:
I have lived in northern Westchester County for three decades. I am happily married for 30 years, and I have two wonderful boys, now in their twenties.
We are keen on physical fitness and healthy living. Some of our hobbies include scuba diving, tennis, cycling, theater and hiking.
Q:
What message would you send to anyone seeking a new general dentist?
A:
We treat every patient like family and we are dedicated to minimizing pain and maximizing aesthetic and functional outcomes. If someone is looking for a dentist that they will never leave, I strongly urge them to contact our office.
